Administrative Executive Assistant To The Pastor - Bro. Ed McCartney

Under the direction of the Pastor, Deacons serve the Lord by conducting the caring ministry of the church-doing the benevolence work, visiting the sick, being alert to the spiritual needs of the congregation-for the purposes of freeing the pastoral staff to focus on prayer and the ministry of the Word, promoting unity within the church, and facilitating the spread of the gospel.

Deacon Board - Bro. Charles Fanniel, Chairman

Under the auspices of the Pastor and the Deacons, the Trustee Board is primarily responsible for carrying out the voted business of the church and the Pastor.  The Board is also responsible for monitoring and maintaining the physical upkeep of the church and the welfare of the Pastor.  This Board has no legislative power.

Trustee Board - Bro. Gary Black, Chairman

Under the auspices of the Pastor and the Deacons, the Trustee Board is primarily responsible for carrying out the voted business of the church and the Pastor. The Director of Finance has the responsibility of insuring the Church's financial operations are processed and reported accurately, with integrity, and in a timely manner.  This includes. but is not limited to, the responsibility for the oversight, management, and leadership in the areas of finance, internal control, and auditing.  The individual in this position supports the Pastor and the Church's ministries in God's Kingdom building.

Finance Department - Director TBA

The Director of Finance has the responsibility of insuring the Church’s financial operations are processed and reported accurately, with integrity, and in a timely manner. This includes. but is not limited to, the responsibility for the oversight, management, and leadership in the areas of finance, internal control, and auditing. The individual in this position supports the Pastor and the Church’s ministries in God’s Kingdom building.
The Building Fund Chairman, along with the

 Assistant Building Fund Chairman, and the Building 

Fund Secretary, are responsible for planning

and directing new and/or major building projects for the church which have been approved by the church.  We, along with Pastor Black, are responsible

for securing necessary funding sources for building projects. 

Upon Project completion, the Building Fund Committee

is responsible for developing and managing programs 

to assist the church with the payoff of major debts.

As such, we develop payoff programs, secure pledges

when required, track payments of pledges, and provide

quarterly reports to the church.  We also oversee major

insurance obligations of the church.

This includes, but is not limited to, recording information about new members, baptisms, christenings, weddings, funerals, building permits, and other legal church-related information about the church.

South Phoenix Baptist Church is a church where 

everybody is somebody.   We strive to make our 

facilities as comfortable as possible for our 

church members, friends, and visitors.  We also strive to 

make our facilities available when needed.

As Calendar & Facilities Administrator my responsibility is to ensure the Church & Facilities Calendar is updated and maintained so that services, programs, activities, and facilities are scheduled without conflict.
The Church Secretary performs office duties in the church.  This includes, but is not limited to, secretarial duties for the Pastor, preparing weekly Church Bulletins and Announcements, preparing church Resolutions for funerals, Programs for special occassions, and other administrative duties as required.
