About Us

South Phoenix Missionary Baptist Church is a body of believers of Jesus Christ. We have been blessed through prayer, sacrificial giving and diligent effort to occupy facilities at 2006 E. Broadway Rd. in Phoenix, Arizona. These facilities enable us to focus on our mission — connecting people to Jesus Christ through relationships, fellowship, discipleship and worship.   South Phoenix is a traditional Baptist Church where we have Sunday School every Sunday morning, at 9:00 a.m., and Worship Services at 10:30 a.m. Prayer Services are held every Wednesday night from 7:00 pm until 8:00 p.m., followed by Bible Study from 8:00 pm until 9:00p.m. Various Auxiliary meetings are held throughout the week.   We believe in providing service to our members and the community; therefore, every Thursday, working with St. Mary’s Food Bank, we distribute food boxes to the needy. On Saturday mornings we serve a hot breakfast to the hungry, and twice per month we distribute fresh vegetables to the needy in our neighborhood. We place great emphasis on working with the youth of our church, encouraging them to be all they can be, providing various activities for their physical and social development, biblical studies for their Christian development and educational scholarships for their mental development.   Our Pastor, Rev. Black, believes if you work in the church you stay in the church. He encourages members, from the youngest to the oldest, to get involved in church activities, because “South Phoenix is a church where everybody is somebody.”
